The Brookings Economic Development Corportation (BEDC) is the primary engine for promoting economic growth in Brookings and the surrounding area. BEDC serves as an advocate for the business community by building relationships with companies that allow them to succeed by taking advantage of the area's unique and progressive business environement. Downtown Brookings Inc. (DBI) is the foundation for local initiatives and urban revival of the Brookings Commerical Historic District. Using the National Main Street Program's Four-Point Approach, DBI works together with businesses to build a sustainable and comprehensive community revitalization effort.

The City of Brookings is an integral part of the Brookings Convention & Visitors Bureau. We, as an organizatiown, work with the city to promote its assets, attract visitors and create a community all residents can enjoy.

In addition to our local partners, we work together with our regional partners throughout the state to promote South Dakota. 

The Brookings CVB is a member of the Glacial Lakes & Prairies Toursim Association, a non-profit organization that covers the 20 county area of Northeastern South Dakota. With our membership, we receive endless supplies of South Dakota Vacation Guides, South Dakota Highway Maps and are able to promote our events through their networks.

Since Brookings sits on the line of the Northeast and Southeast region, we also consider the Southeast South Dakota Tourism Association a valued partner. SSDTA is a non-profit organization dedicated toward increasing the economic impact of the visitor industry in the Southeastern region of South Dakota.
