DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis cross country-style race passes through a dairy barn\, weaves through a cornfield and will finish alongside a sheep pasture! \nThis race will give participants the opportunity to see the South Dakota State University College of Agriculture\, Food and Environmental Sciences like nobody has before! \nRegistration\nEarly-bird registration (July 31-September 6): $25.\nRegular registration (September 7-26): $35\nGroup registration (Register 10 participants for the price of 8\, available July 31-September 6): $200\nAll participants who register before September 15 will receive a t-shirt. Participants who register after September 15 may receive a t-shirt\, depending on size availability. All participants will receive a college drawstring bag\, day pass to the Miller Recreation and Wellness Center and other sponsor related goodies. \nRoute\nA cowbell start will kick off the race at the SDSU Ruminant Nutrition Center at 8 a.m. The 3–4-mile route will follow grass paths to the SDSU Dairy Research\, Education and Training Facility and run through the dairy barn! It will then travel through pastures surrounded by various crop fields\, native plant species and run by the SDSU Feed Mill. It will end back at the Ruminant Nutrition Center.. A defined course map with specific length will be made available to all registered participants before the race. \nPlease note: No part of the race will take place on public roadways\, most of it will be on grass. There are some spots on the course that will have uneven footing. \nAwards\nAll participants will receive a blue finisher’s ribbon! The awards presentation will begin around 9:15 a.m. at the Sheep Research and Teaching Unit. The top two men/women finishers in the following categories will receive champion ribbons. \n14 and under\n15-19\n20-29\n30-39\n40-49\n50-59\n60+\nCheck-in\nRace check-in and t-shirt pick up will be Friday\, September 25 from 5:30-7 p.m. and Saturday\, September 26 from 7-7:45 a.m. at the SDSU Ruminant Nutrition Center (3727 Medary Ave Brookings\, SD 57006). Walk-in registrations will be allowed\, but a t-shirt is not guaranteed. \nBreakfast on the Farm\nImmediately after the race\, the Breakfast on the Farm event will be taking place at the Ruminant Nutrition Center. All participants\, family and friends are welcome to join for a morning of fun and educational activities about where our food comes from! There will be farm equipment\, animals\, interactive experiences and breakfast! \nParking\nParking is available at the SDSU Ruminant Nutrition Center (3727 Medary Ave Brookings\, SD 57006).

DESCRIPTION:Be part of the history of Jack 15. \nFor 63 years\, runners have been making an annual trek from White\, S.D.\, to Brookings\, S.D.\, making it the oldest road race in the Midwest. The 64th running of the 15.2-mile course from Hooker and Main in White to the Campanile in Brookings via county roads is Sept. 19.\nPrize money is offered for the top three male and female placers — $200 for first\, $100 for second and $50 for third. All entries will receive a long-sleeve\, moisture-wicking T-shirt and all finishers of the 15.2-mile run will receive a medal. \nSo start training for Prairie Striders’ version of an ultra-half marathon or grab some friends and form a relay team.\n​\nNOTES:\nNewly designed custom medals to runners who complete the full distance.\nEarly start is offered for walkers and SLOW runners only. Those wanting an early start must contact the race director a week in advance of the race. \nThe Jack 15 offers the following individual and team competitions:\nIndividual competitors may run the entire 15.2 miles.\n5-member relay team running 3 miles each\n3-member relay team running 5 miles each.\n2-member relay team running 7.5 miles each.\nRelay teams may consist of all men\, all women\, or be co-ed.

DESCRIPTION:Kart Racing at it’s finest! We are a family owned and run\, 1/5 high bank dirt/clay oval track on the North edge of Brookings near the Community Gardens.\nMowers\, wing karts\, flat karts & stingers. On average we will have 13-16 different classes race! Our racers will range from age 5 up to 70+.\nWe have wonderful\, fresh concessions for purchase on site.\nTimes:\nRegistration Gates Open: 10:00am\nSpectator Gates Open: 12:00pm\nHot Laps: 2:00pm (Subject to change)\nRaces start: 3:00pm (Subject to change)\nCost:\nUNDER 12 years old is Free\n12+ is $5.00 each\nSpectator Pit Passes will vary based on the event.\nFollow our Facebook page for updates & added events on race days!\nWe do have some volunteer opportunities available each week.
