DESCRIPTION:The Hobo Day Committee is putting on BumOver for the SDSU students. \nBring your friends and join your fellow Bums in the VBR to build Hoboville out of\nshanties and Hobo spirit! Groups will work together to build their own shanties that they can “bum around in” for an hour or so. Cardboard and duct tape will be provided\, but groups are encouraged to bring their own supplies to make their shanties unique. Shanty judging will take place and the winning teams will be awarded with true hobo-like prizes! Arm wrestling will also make the annual appearance. The Judges will pick three shanty winners: tallest\, most school-spirited\, and overall best. \nThis will take place October 20th at 7PM in the VBR at the student union. Make sure to check out the structures in the union!

DESCRIPTION:The SDSU School of Performing Arts is pleased to introduce a donor-funded featured performance. Generously supported by Doug and Sandy Oleson\, a presentation of the 1925 silent film “Phantom of the Opera” featuring Lon Chaney will be offered to raise awareness of the pipe organ in Founders Recital Hall. Central to the performance will be silent film historian and organist Ben Model. Ben is one of the nation’s leading silent film accompanists\, performing on both piano and theatre organ.

DESCRIPTION:THE DASH:\nMake plans to attend the 9th Annual Polar 5K Run/Walk. The timed event is open to both runners and walkers and is a great family event. Families are encouraged to participate. Come help us celebrate Special Olympics South Dakota and support our 2\,750+ athletes across the state. Participants will receive a participation medal\, and those who do the Splash and Dash will receive a custom-made Polar Plunge shirt (adult sizes). Awards will be given to the top 3 finishing men and women of the race. More information on the location of the race will be available at a later date.\nRunner in Hibernation: If you cannot participate on race day but would like to support Special Olympics South Dakota\, receive a participation medal\, and register as a Runner in Hibernation. DESCRIPTION:The SDSU School of Performing Arts is pleased to introduce a donor-funded featured performance. Generously supported by Doug and Sandy Oleson\, a presentation of the 1925 silent film “Phantom of the Opera” featuring Lon Chaney will be offered to raise awareness of the pipe organ in Founders Recital Hall. Central to the performance will be silent film historian and organist Ben Model. Ben is one of the nation’s leading silent film accompanists\, performing on both piano and theatre organ.
