DESCRIPTION:View the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street traveling exhibit “Crossroads: Change in Rural America\,” and hear from Sarah Vogel\, author of The Farmer’s Lawyer. \nAbout the Author: Sarah Vogel \nSarah Vogel is an attorney\, advocate\, and author of The Farmer’s Lawyer\, a memoir about the landmark class action lawsuit\, Coleman v. Block. She brought and won this historic case against the federal government on behalf of 240\,000 family farmers facing foreclosure during the 1980s farm crisis. DESCRIPTION:Be part of the historic Jack 15! \nFor 59 years\, runners have been making an annual trek from White\, S.D.\, to Brookings\, S.D.\, making it the oldest road race in the Midwest. The 60th running of the 15.2-mile course from Hooker and Main in White to the Campanile in Brookings via county roads is Sept. 24. \nTo mark this landmark occurrence\, there will be a FREE program Friday\, Sept. 23\, with course record holder and road racing legend Dick Beardsley\, members and coaches from the 1963 SDSU team that comprised the first race\, and Jack 15 stalwarts like Bob Bartling!\n​\nPrize money is offered for the top three male and female placers — $200 for first\, $100 for second and $50 for third. All entries will receive a long-sleeve\, moisture-wicking T-shirt and all finishers of the 15.2-mile run will receive a medal. \nSo start training for Prairie Striders’ version of an ultra-half marathon or grab some friends and form a relay team.\n​\nNOTES: \n\nCustom 60th anniversary medals to runners who complete the full distance.\nWalkers wanting an early start must contact the race director a week in advance of the race.\n\nThe Jack 15 offers the following individual and team competitions: \n\nIndividual competitors may run the entire 15.2 miles.\n5-member relay team running 3 miles each\n3-member relay team running 5 miles each.\n2-member relay team running 7.5 miles each.\nRelay teams may consist of all men\, all women\, or be co-ed.\n\nNeed another runner for your relay team?
