DESCRIPTION:This race offers a fast\, shaded\, USATF certified course that starts and finishes near downtown at the Brookings County Courthouse\, snakes through downtown and residential Brookings\, passes near Pioneer Park and the children’s museum\, and goes through Hillcrest Park. The course is well marked with very light traffic. \nEntry fee includes a T-shirt\, entry for door prizes\, age group medals to the top three\, and of course our complete Beef and Eggs breakfast served immediately after the race! Run for Beef & Eggs offers over $1\,200 in cash prizes for the top three males and females in hopes of bringing the best competition from around the area.\n​\nThe race also encourages novice runners and walkers to come out and enjoy the morning while getting fit! \n​​      Beef and Eggs 5k also doubles as the USATF Dakota’s Association 5k Road Race Championships. If you are a USATF Dakota’s member\, make sure to register as such to enter yourself into the Dakota’s Championship\, where you will be eligible for an additional award (top 3 open and top 3 masters men and women). USA Track & Field Dakotas is the local governing body for long distance running\, track & field\, cross country and race walking in North and South Dakota and provides youth in particular great opportunities to enter the sport.
