DESCRIPTION:Young runners ages 4 to 11 have a chance to explore training at kid-sized distances at a free event sponsored by Prairie Striders Running Club\, Brookings Park and Recreation and Oakwood Lakes Trail Run. \nThe new event\, directed by Andy Carlson\, director of Oakwood Lakes Trail Run\, is 6 p.m. Wednesday\, Aug. 9\, at Dakota Nature Park. Runners will use the single track mountain bike course. DESCRIPTION:Fall Prospect Camp\n\n\n\n\nHigh school prospect camp will start with a showcase format\, including running times\, batting evaluation\, specific position showcase. All participants will also receive individual instruction at their position from SDSU staff.  Each player will be able to pitch\, hit\, and play his position. Two camp options are available. First\, camp plus evaluation; camper will participate in all aspects of camp plus receive an evaluation covering your primary and secondary positions\, plus hitting. The second option is available for PO’s (pitchers only). PO’s will have an evaluation as well.  Time and format are subject to change. \nLunch will not be provided. DESCRIPTION:Joint Camp is a free\, 60-minute educational session for individuals who are having\, or are thinking about\, knee or hip joint replacements. \nJoint Camp is presented by team members who regularly assist patients on their joint journey\, including nurses and therapists. Topics covered include an explanation of joint pain\, physical and occupational therapy preparation\, how to prepare the home for safety\, what to bring with to the hospital and what to expect the day of surgery. In addition\, patients will learn about available services to help them plan for recovery and going home\, including swing bed\, short-term rehabilitation\, home health and outpatient therapy. \nPatients are also encouraged to bring along a support person to Joint Camp. The support person will work with the patient to learn therapeutic exercises and expectations for post-surgical care.
