DESCRIPTION:Nail the Runway is our annual fundraiser where we offer a formal gala dinner and put on a unique fashion show. Every outfit displayed on the runway on the night of April 6th is designed and constructed by local designers\, modeled by local talent\, and judged by local “celebrity” judges in various categories to compete to win one of the coveted awards for the evening! The catch is that each outfit has to be made from at least 50% construction materials and feature the year’s primary design element (this year is CARPET) — a unique and fun challenge that can really tickle the creativity of anyone who’s interested in designing.

DESCRIPTION:Our “Taste of Brookings Annual Celebration” will put a spotlight on the past year’s accomplishments and look to the future as we discuss our upcoming goals. The “Taste of Brookings” portion will allow you to get a taste from several local chefs to create one mouth-watering dinner and dessert experience! This will be followed by an update from our Chamber of Commerce\, and joining in the celebration of many deserving individuals on their accomplishments. \nJoin us at 5:00pm for drinks (1 drink included plus cash bar)\, and when you’re ready to experience your “Taste of Brookings\,” make your way around the room to the several restaurants serving small portions of a themed entree. After your dinner\, head around to our dessert vendors. \nAt 6:30\, our program will update the audience on the past year of Chamber activity\, celebrate those who went above and beyond\, recognize our Leadership Brookings graduates\, and so much more. \nWe look forward to celebrating with you! DESCRIPTION:The GRAMMY® Award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer is known around the world as “an orchestra of voices” for its wide-ranging repertoire and dazzling virtuosity. Founded in San Francisco in 1978 by singer and musicologist Louis Botto\, Chanticleer quickly took its place as one of the most prolific recording and touring ensembles in the world\, selling over one million recordings and performing thousands of live concerts to audiences around the world. \nChanticleer’s repertoire is rooted in the renaissance and has expanded to include a wide range of classical\, gospel\, jazz\, popular music\, and a deep commitment to the commissioning of new compositions and arrangements. The ensemble has committed much of its vast recording catalogue to these commissions\, garnering GRAMMY® Awards for its recording of Sir John Tavener’s “Lamentations & Praises” and the ambitious collection of commissioned works entitled “Colors of Love”. Chanticleer is the recipient of the Dale Warland/Chorus America Commissioning Award and the ASCAP/Chorus America Award for Adventurous Programming. Its Music Director Emeritus\, Joseph H.
