DESCRIPTION:This is the annual Brookings Optimist Jazz Festival which will be held at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center on the campus of South Dakota State University. Middle school and high school jazz ensembles from the region attend our festival to perform at get feedback from experienced jazz educators. At noon\, the SDSU Jazz Ensemble I will be performing a free concert in Larson Concert Hall featuring two of our guest artists\, Mike Rocha (trumpet) and Dr. Jarrard Harris (saxophone). Also at noon\, the Nebraska Vocal Jazz Project will be performing a concert in Founders Recital Hall. This is also free and open to the public.
