Brookings is Getting Back to Business

The State of South Dakota does not have any travel restrictions in place for visitors. Our community is ready to welcome you to enjoy our Great Faces and Great Places. Our tourism businesses and attractions, hotels, motels, campgrounds, restaurants, and retailers are open for business. We continue to prioritize safety by following CDC guidelines, especially when it comes to social distancing practices.

Visit Brookings will continue to follow the leadership of our state and local government, as well as share recommendations and guidelines from the South Dakota Department of Tourism and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

For those making the choice to travel again, the U.S. Travel Association has provided guidelines for Travel in the New Normal. It promotes health and safety tips for all travelers as well as travel industry partners.

The Brookings community is working collaboratively with South Dakota State University through JacksRBack. The campaign highlights guiding principles for a safe return to campus on August 19, 2020. Learn more about JacksRBack and how SDSU is adjusting their Fall Semester.

Wearing a mask, practicing safe physical distancing, and staying home when sick are still the first lines of defense. As travelers start to venture out, we recommend staying up to date on the latest COVID-19 information through the following resources:
