Here is your guide to a full weekend in Brookings cheering on the Jacks and getting into the holiday spirit.

With Saturday’s early game, arrive Friday and feel at home in Jackrabbit country! Find a place to stay for the night or extend your stay for the weekend.

Friday evening is Brookings is packed with events including Improvanopolis’ Mistletoe Mayhem or live music at Skinner’s Pub. For more family friendly activities meet Santa at the Children’s Museum of South Dakota during their Sensory Friendly Play.

Dana J Dykhouse Stadium

Cheer on the Jacks as they play in the quarterfinals  against Incarnate Word. If you are up for it, head to tailgate as the day begins as early as you make it (Tailgate will begin at 8am for the 11am game). If tailgating is not your thing, stop by Wooden Legs Brewing Company for Fancakes or Cook’s Kitchen for brunch before the game.

The weather in Brookings can change with the wind so stop by Jackrabbit Central on Main Avenue to stock up on hats, mittens, sweatshirts or T-shirts before hitting the stands.

Garden Glow at McCrory Gardens

After the game experience holiday cheer while walking in a winter wonderland with over 350,000 lights. Stroll through the gardens admiring lights, images and scenes of the holidays. Want to stay a little longer? Rent the igloo to enjoy the lights in a heated environment with up to 6 of your friends for 90 minutes.
