Juneteenth Celebration

Join in community at Hillcrest Park (1520 6th St) in Brookings on Sunday, 6/19/22, to commemorate the anniversary of the liberation of enslaved Black people from chattel slavery on June 19th, 1865.
This family-friendly event is open to all and will have vendors and refreshments, youth engagement programming including bubble play and crafts, a fashion show, African dance performance, keynote address delivered by Kas Williams, panel discussion with local fathers in recognition of the dual holidays, reading and book signing from author Ukamaka Olisakwe… and more!
A special prize will be given to the youngest and oldest dad in attendance, in honor of Father’s Day.
