Nick’s Hamburger Shop
Since 1929, Nick’s Hamburger Shop has been a staple food group for any Brookings local and neighbor passing through. When you take a seat on those iconic, red bar stools, you’re sitting among friends (basically like Cheers, but without the beer). Served on a piece of wax paper, the two-ounce mini burgers come with a few different options, but fries are not one of them. No need to worry, you’ll forget about the fries once you hear about the homemade pie selection and simply delicious shakes. To place your order pick a number. One burger is nearly never enough. Then choose either plain, with cheese or double stacked and watch the magic happen. The toppings are simple and secretive (ask for the mustard and relish combo!).
Nick’s is also part of our Brookings Great 8 Passport program, encourging visitors and locals to explore our one-of-a-kind attractions.
