While one year delayed, Woodbine Productions presents Pink Martini for their first-ever performance in South Dakota!
For more than 10 years, we have been actively working to secure an engagement with Pink Martini, one of the world’s most cosmopolitan and topdrawer jazz orchestras. To attempt to label this group’s diverse musical style as “jazz” truly diminishes the uniqueness of Pink Martini. They have been featured at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and the Paris Jazz Festival, tour extensively in the finest halls in Europe, and Brookings!
With more than a dozen instrumentalists and several vocalists, Pink Martini is comprised of musicians of the highest caliber and a musical repertoire that includes songs in 25 languages. Thomas Lauderdale, the founder, bandleader, and pianist for Pink Martini, explains, “Pink Martini is a rollicking, around-the-world musical adventure… If the United Nations had a house band in 1962, hopefully, we’d be that band!”
Now in their 29th season, Pink Martini will perform in the Oscar Larson Theatre, where we will provide the group the swankiest venue in the Dakotas. Guests are guaranteed to experience a night as unique as the venue and of the exceptional caliber you expect from Woodbine Productions.
