Located on the east side of town, Whiskey Creek serves up exceptional dishes grilled over logs giving every bite a smoky, unforgettable flavor.
After dinner, head to Tee’d Off, Brookings’ premier sports simulator.
Reserve a bay for up to six players and choose from 14+ games including golf, baseball, football and more. With TVs playing the biggest games, it’s the perfect place to play and kick back.

Day Two
Start your morning at the Dakota Nature Park. Cast a line and enjoy great fishing amenities for leisure fishermen. You never know what you could catch in the stocked ponds.
Next stop over to the Brookings County Outdoor Adventure Center where you will find both an indoor archery and gun range open to the public. You can rent bows, arrows, ammunition, guns or anything else you might need while testing it out. The friendly staff are happy to help you get started or to improve your aim.
Have lunch at the legendary Nick’s Hamburger Shop, where you can buy delicious sliders by the bag and get fountain soda to go with them. This downtown staple has been serving up quick bites and local charm since 1929.
A downtown favorite, Skinner’s Pub is the kind of laid-back local spot where everyone feels welcome. Grab a beer, settle into a seat by the windows or snag a spot on the patio and soak in the afternoon.
As evening strikes head to Pints and Quarts. Order a Juicy Lucy burger and you will be full for the rest of the night. Other mentionable items include South Dakota’s very own chislic, the loaded fries and the jacked-up cheese curds.

Day Three
Start the day at Cook’s Kitchen, a beloved Brookings spot known for hearty breakfasts and hometown charm. Their pancakes are a must-try and are huge! The lunch menu is just as satisfying with favorites like the HOBO Club and roast beef dinner.
After brunch, spend some time on the green. Edgebrook Golf Course offers a welcoming 18-hole course and driving range, while the Brookings Country Club provides a more refined experience with beautiful fairways and a peaceful setting. For pricing and reserving a tee time visit their websites.
End the weekend at The Lanes. This updated bowling alley brings the fun with modern lanes, vintage and new arcade games, and a full-service bar and grill. It’s a great way to cap off a weekend made for Dad.
