Our first stop on our tour of Brookings’s outdoor wonders is the McCrory Gardens and Arboretum. Start with the botanical garden, pristine year-round with a mixture of local and exotic plants. You’ll love exploring the expansive grounds and seeing all of the blooms. After you’ve walked through the formal gardens, you can also enjoy the neighboring arboretum with 45 acres of trees and shrubs and 1.6 miles of trails! Inside the visitor’s center, you can also find helpful staff here to educate and assist in making your visit a truly remarkable experience.

Larson Park

Your next stop is to grab your discs for some Frisbee golf at Larson Park! It’s a great way to spend the day outdoors and get some exercise at the same time. Bring a picnic lunch, have fun navigating the park, and try to slide your Frisbee into the basket under par. Have you never played? No worries! QR codes dot the course to help you out, and all the holes are labeled with a map to help you identify your goal. Larson Park is conveniently located and perfectly maintained for a great playing experience. Are you bringing the kids? The playground is gorgeous and the perfect place to use up some energy between holes.
