A strong passion for Indian food brings international flavors to Brookings. Flavor Indian & Asian Fare offers the community and visitors something they’ve never tasted before. Spicy doesn’t necessarily mean hot, but guests are encouraged to pick their level of spiciness. Each dish is made fresh daily with quality ingredients and gourmet foods. This small operation is also connected to the International Grocery Store which supplies patrons with groceries from around the world such as Indian, Korean, Chinese, Middle Eastern, and African. In recent news, Flavor Indian & Asian Fare is now located in downtown Brookings at the corner of fifth and main. Their new space offers a larger dining room and expanded menu.
Flavor Indian & Asian Fare is also available for delivery through Zapoya Delivery.

History lives on in Brookings residential districts. Brookings Historic Preservation Commission offers two walking tours: the University Residential Historic District and the Central Historic District. Brochures are available at the Visit Brookings office.
The University Residential Historic District features some of Brookings’ oldest buildings, including 33 homes once owned by early professors, doctors and business leaders. The Central Residential District showcases 34 homes built between 1891 and 1941, featuring diverse architectural styles and a portion of Brookings’ urban arboretum.
