Geraldine Goes In Center will present her talk, “Pre-colonization, Colonization, and Decolonization of Lakota Food and Diet”. Goes In Center presents the history of the diet of Lakota people, covering pre-reservation, early reservation, and present time. The presentation includes information on the types of food Lakota people consumed and how foods were preserved and prepared.
In honor of Native American Heritage Month, the Brookings Public Library is hosting events and speakers from across the Midwest to discuss Native history, culture, and issues.
