“Creation.Story” Reception
Curated by Keith BraveHeart (Oglála Lakota) with curatorial direction for the South Dakota Art Museum exhibition provided by Jhon Goes In Center (Oglála Lakota) and Marlena Myles (Spirit Lake Dakota), “Creation.Story” celebrates Očhéthi Šakówiŋ creation stories through the work of 18 Dakota and Lakota artists.
At the center of exhibition is a dynamic engagement space unique to the Museum that deepens the visitor experience. The circular design, inspired by traditional community spaces, offers creative activities that invite reflection and shared learning: beading, weaving, quilting, and hide painting.
