Optimist Trout Extravaganza

Annual Optimist Trout Extravaganza: In 2022 we surpassed 400 youth served. It is held the 3rd weekend of May. In 2023 is the 28th year our club sponsored this free event. Children ages 14 and younger are invited to come with nothing. No experience or equipment needed. Fishing rods, bait, fish cleaning, fixing of fishing poles and hands-on-fishing tips from volunteers are at the participants fingertips. The pond is stocked with 2100 trout. Over the two-day event there were over 1552 trout cleaned. Each youth is sent home with cleaned fish, recipes to cook their trout and an informational brochure about Optimist
