Made famous by Laura Ingalls Wilder, Lake Thompson Recreation Area was once dry and used for pasture. Nowadays, boating enthusiasts and camping gurus flock to the shore for endless outdoor activities. Lay by the beach or drop anchor, Lake Thompson has a boat ramp and a lodge to gather necessities. A total of 103 campsites and 5 cabins are available year-round.

Fees:

  • Campsites: $15 non-electrical, $26 electrical
  • Cabin: $55/night
  • Lodge: $280/night
  • Park entrance license required year-round: Temporary daily license is $8 per vehicle. An annual license is $36 first vehicle, $18 for the second vehicle or $80 for a transferable license.
