The highly anticipated renovation of the First Bank & Trust Arena, home to the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits, is poised to elevate game days into an exhilarating experience. With state-of-the-art facilities and welcoming social areas, this transformation promises to amplify the excitement of every visit. Jackrabbit athletics is set to become a center of action and engagement.

The momentum for this upgrade began with the launch of practice gyms in 2018, paving the way for a massive $66 million renovation with a grand opening in September 2024. Fans can look forward to heart-pounding men’s and women’s basketball games, wrestling matches and electrifying volleyball competitions.

Visitors can expect upgraded concession stands, featuring a dedicated area for SDSU’s famous ice cream, along with reserved seating and exclusive club and lounge spaces for students and season ticket holders.

Students will enjoy a fantastic new club room designed for them, including TVs, open seating and creating a vibrant space for student organizations to host events on game days. Maggan Froseth, the athletic director of marketing, is enthusiastic about the future for students and fans. “Students can expect us to do a lot more for them,” she said. “That space is dedicated to them, and we’re excited to fill it with energy and opportunities.”
