Brookings County Outdoor Adventure Center
The Brookings County Outdoor Adventure Center (BCOAC) is a 29,530 square-foot facility. The facility boasts an Olympic sized archery range, a 12 lane gun range with automatic retrieval system, and facility rentals of a classroom, boardroom or for large groups, the archery range. While shooting sports has been a key focus, the center is also home to the SDSU Extension Brookings County 4-H, and Game, Fish, and Parks. the center works to give kids, adults, active seniors, sportsemen and outdoor enthusiasts a platform to improve their skills.
The BCOAC is also part of our Brookings Great 8 Passport program, encouraging visitors and locals to explore our one-of-a-kind attractions.
Firearms Range | The firearms range is temperature controlled with a state-of-the-art ventilation system and automatic retrieval system with a distance of up to 25 yards. The BCOAC offers a firearms rental program for those who don’t own a gun, are not able to bring their own firearms or are interested in trying out a new or special brand. Participants must be 21 years of age or older. Learn more about the rules and regulations for renting firearms.
Archery Range | The archery range is an Olympic sized range, up to 30 yards and 32 lanes. It contains professional-grade targets, mobile props on wheels, and 3D targets.
Facility Rental Information
The BCOAC is available to rent as a meeting or event venue. They offer a standard classroom for up to 72 people, a board room for smaller meetings up to 10 people. For larger events, half or all of the archery range is available to rent.
Classes
BCOAC offers a variety of classes. If you’re just starting out you might be interested in the Basic Pistol Class. Or maybe you want to take the Enhanced Concealed Carry or Basic Riffle. Check the website www.bcoac.org for all upcoming classes.
