As you visit Downtown Brookings you are likely to catch a glimpse of a mural or two. Currently there are 13 murals that are a part of Urban Canvas, a program to bring public art to the walls and alleyways of Downtown Brookings! Knock out five with one stop! Five different murals are located along the east side of 312 5th St. Artists featured here include Ashley Biggar, Brookings Arts Council and community, Chuck Bennis, and Pandr Design Co.
Fan of the SDSU Jackrabbits? Grab a photo here before heading to cheer on them on at Dana J Dkyhouse Stadium or First Bank & Trust Arena (formerly Frost Arena)! The mural featuring the iconic Bummobile was painted by Brookings local, Chuck Bennis. It resides at 500 Main Ave near the Post Office.
Snap a photo with Brookings icons such as the SDSU Coughlin Campanile, Nick’s Hamburger Shop and Mama from the Children’s Museum of South Dakota with this mural tucked in the alley! Located at 419 3rd St completed by SDSU alum Robbie Jelsma in 2015.
