Brookings County History Museum
The Brookings County History Museum, located in Volga, houses a collection of more than 4,500 artifacts retrieved from Brookings County and the surrounding county’s pioneer heritage. A total of five buildings represent life back in the 1800s, including a vintage farm equipment building, a 1870 log cabin and an old country schoolhouse. Travel back in time through old photographs, various newspaper clippings, and historic family archives; many of which were donated by local residents. The museum is open seven days a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day, from 1-4 p.m. If you’re interested in an individual, group, or school tour, please call 605-827-2303.
