Single Track Trail & Pump Park
Brookings has truly become a bicyclist’s paradise, thanks to the expert teams behind the Olympic BMX trails! The Pump Park and Single Track Trail, created by Trail Source LLC and Brookings Mountain Bike Association, offer a mix of challenges and excitement for all riders.
Just west of the SouthBrook Softball Complex and north of Dakota Nature Park, the Pump Park features three tracks suitable for all ages and abilities, including a strider track for kids ages 2–5. In a pump park, you use your body weight and bike momentum to navigate the track—no pedaling needed!
For more experienced riders, the Single Track Trail is a thrilling, single-file route with sharp turns, varying textures, and rocky terrain. It’s perfect for building skills and confidence. Helmets are required, and mountain bikes are highly recommended for better control on the rough surfaces.
*It’s recommended to use a mountain bike for better control versus an average touring bike.
The trail winds through the natural beauty of Dakota Nature Park, so be sure to pack out what you pack in. After heavy rainfall, the trail may be closed to avoid damage, so check the posted rules and regulations before heading out. Check out the Rules and Regulations posted on the site!
