The Brookings County Outdoor Adventure Center is a 29,530 square-foot facility. It's staffed mainly by volunteers who have expert training and years of experience under their belt. It's lovingly sandwiched between Dakota Nature Park and Southbrook Softball Complex along 22nd avenue south but shares no affiliation with DNP. The facility boasts an Olympic-length archery range, shooting gallery, classrooms for instruction in outdoor recreation and programming, as well as meeting rooms and conference space. While shooting sports has been a key focus, the center will range in programming from 4-H to geocaching and more. The center works to give kids, adults, active seniors, sportsmen and outdoor enthusiasts a platform to improve their skills and learn more about the exciting features the Dakota landscape has to offer.
The BCOAC is also part of our Brookings Great 8 Passport program, encourging visitors and locals to explore our one-of-a-kind attractions.
Firearms Range Rental Program | The Brookings County Outdoor Adventure Center now offers a firearms rental program for those who don't own a gun, are not able to bring their own firearms or are interested in trying out a new or special brand.
