South Dakota Art Museum

Situated on the campus of South Dakota State University, the South Dakota Art Museum features seven spacious galleries and a collections archive of more than 7,000 works of art. Among the galleries, four feature rotating art from its permanent collections including Harvey Dunn paintings, Paul Goble illustrations, and Marghab Linens. The remaining galleries exhibit the latest trends in contemporary art from regional, national and international artists. The museum also offers a one-of-a-kind museum store featuring unique pieces available for sale, ranging from handmade jewelry to colorful pottery and miles upon miles of beads from around the world. In addition, the South Dakota Art Museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and was recently named one of The 25 Best American Galleries and Museums of 2017 by American Art Awards.

The South Dakota Art Museum is also part of our Brookings Great 8 Passport program, encourging visitors and locals to explore our one-of-a-kind attractions.
