Stanley J. Marshall HPER Center
The Stanley J. Marshall HPER Center is command central for the Athletics Department. It was named after Stan Marshall, the athletic director of SDSU from 1965 to 1980. Within the center is Frost Arena, the HPER pool and an indoor track for athletic teams. The swimming pool is a six-lane competition pool stretching 25 yards long with a diving well allowing for 1- and 3- meter competitions. The HPER center opened in 1973, with the first basketball game taking place Feb. 2, 1973. The HPER is a total 158,000 square feet with Frost Arena using 18,415 square feet. Concession stands are available throughout the facility offering all the classics like peanuts and hotdogs, as well as the famous SDSU ice cream.
