Pioneer Park

Serving as a playground for all ages, Pioneer Park  includes a basketball court, sand volleyball, playground equipment, a bandshell, restrooms, and a wide open field.

In the summer months, the Pioneer Park bandshell hosts more than 110 local musicians who make up the Brookings Area Community Band, and is also the location of the annual Brookings Summer Arts Festival. The park is home to the Centennial Pioneer Cabin, which was constructed using trees native to South Dakota as a tribute to Brookings’ first homesteaders.

For parties and family reunions, shelters in the park can be reserved by contacting the Brookings Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department.
