Pioneer Park
Pioneer Park serves as a playground for all ages! The neighborhood park includes a basketball court, sand volleyball, playground equipment, a bandshell, restrooms, and a wide, open field for other team sports.
In the summer months, the Pioneer Park bandshell hosts more than 110 local musicians who make up the Brookings Area Community Band, and it’s also the location of the annual Brookings Summer Arts Festival. The park is also home to the Centennial Pioneer Cabin, which was constructed using trees native to South Dakota as a tribute to Brookings’ first homesteaders.
For parties and family reunions, shelters in the park can be reserved by contacting the Brookings Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department.
